Report card survery:
I hope everyone had a great vacation and is rested and ready for the home stretch!
We still have lots to learn in third grade. Coming up we will be doing the SAS test (state testing) starting May 7th until May 13th. This can be a stressful time for students. Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep every night and a healthy breakfast each morning. There is a sign-up genius for healthy snacks that I sent out. If you didn't get it and would like to contribute, please let me know.
We will be starting our final project of the year: studying famous women. Your child will be assigned a woman to study. They will have to make a time line of that woman's life and make a Chatterpix here at school.
Don't forget the whale watch is June 7th! You can only chaperone if you've been fingerprinted and are cleared by the SAU. More info about the whale watch will come home in June.
The Book Fair and Read-A-Thon is this week. We will get a chance to purchase Book Fair books during our library time on Wednesday. So you can send in money with your child on Wednesday if you wish.
The PTA Read-A-Thon will be on Friday. A sponsor form was sent home before vacation. If you didn't get one, let me know and I'll send home another, or you can just send in the $ you want to contribute. Be sure your child has a book or books that they can read for 1/2 hour.
March is Kindness month here at NBCS. We will be discussing kindness and doing special projects to spread kindness around school.
The state floats are in and they are fabulous!! Every one is unique and amazing. We've been sharing them in class and asking lots of questions. We're learning so much! The state float parade will be Thursday the 21st at 9:00. You are welcome to come and be a member of the school wide audience as we parade down the hallway downstairs. If you could come at 8:45 that would be great to help us get these amazing creations down the stairs!
Hope to see you there!
Hopefully you have received information about our state float projects. The instructions and rubric went home January 24 . There is a portion for you to sign and return to school. If you have not gotten the directions, please email me for another copy. These are due Friday Feb. 15th. We will be sharing these in class, so make sure your child can pronounce and identify each item on their float. We will also be having a state float parade through the school. You are welcome to come and watch! The date is tentatively Thursday the 21st in the morning. When I firm up date and time I will let you know.
We will also be studying and doing projects here at school. This is an exciting time for us, please share in your child's enthusiasm! If you have any questions or can't find any of the required information, please let me know as soon as possible.
I can't wait to see the creativity and uniqueness of each float!
